Its fleet was the largest private fleet of the galaxy. In the later years of the Galactic Republic, the D'Asta merchants from Serenno made their fortune establishing various markets along the Braxant Run in the New Territories.
The D'Asta family were created for the comic miniseries Crimson Empire II: Council of Blood, by Mike Richardson and Randy Stradley. In The Essential Atlas by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace, the D'Asta family was established as power brokers in the galaxy to commensurate their apparent status in Crimson Empire.
