The Croynar sector was located far from the Core Worlds of the galaxy which included the Midgor star system. In 5 ABY, The 204th Imperial Fighter Wing of the Galactic Empire's loyalist forces attacked an Imperial convoy that served the Yomo Council—an Imperial group that had broken off from the Empire—in Midgor during its campaign of rogue Imperial factions.
Around the same time, forces of the New Republic received intelligence from the information merchant known as the Oracle that the 204th was in the Croynar sector. With three systems in the sector considered to have some strategic value, including Midgor, a New Republic starfighter wing was deployed to the system, where its squadrons discovered the ravaged convoy that the 204th had attacked. Calling in the New Republic refitted Star Destroyer Deliverance, the fighter wing assisted the survivors of the convoy.
