Council of Elders (Klatooinian)

The Council of Elders was the ruling council of the Klatooinians. They only had control over the internal affairs of Klatooine, since the Hutts controlled all activities of the Klatooinians off-world.

The Council of Elders was based in a palace built around the Fountain of Ancients, a natural formation in the Derelkoos Desert considered holy by the Klatooinian people. This site was also the center of the Klatooinian religion, which revered deities called the Ancients and believed in strength through age.

Members of the Council were selected based on age, experience, and their performance in a series of debates designed to test their understanding and interpretations of Klatooinian myth and cultural traditions. Members served for life, or until they were no longer able to fulfill their duties.
