The Coruscant blockade was an Imperial Security Bureau blockade fleet that served the Galactic Empire in the final moments of the Galactic Civil War, defending the Imperial capital planet of Coruscant. While the bulk of the Imperial Navy were stationed at Jakku with other loyalist forces, the Coruscant blockade defended the star system from New Republic attack. The force consisted of dozens of Imperial starships, including the Panaka, and their TIE fighters and blockade commanders. The blockade intercepted Colonel Soran Keize of the 204th Imperial Fighter Wing and Lieutenant Yrica Quell of the New Republic as they participated in an attack on Coruscant's Verity District.
Concurrently, Imperial forces participated in a civil war on the surface, with ISB patrol craft and starships and TIE/sk striker squadrons bolstering the Imperial presence on the capital world.
