Coruscant Standard Carat

The Coruscant Standard Carat, or CSC, was a standard unit of measurement for gemstones.

While gemstones across the galaxy varied fantastically in price depending on quality and local demand - with quality gems potentially worth entire fortunes, and low-quality gems barely worth a meal - most gems were nevertheless held to the Coruscant Standard Carat (CSC). One CSC was roughly equal to one fifth of a gram, with typical gemstones ranging in size from one-half to three CSCs. A particularly large stone could be as large as five CSCs.
