Corellian slice hound

The Corellian slice hound, also known as the razor hound, was a canine creature form Corellia

Biology and appearance

The Corellian slice hound took its name from its sharp teeth and its spike-covered body. Slice hounds were predators that generally attacked anything smaller than themselves unless they were hungry. They hunted in small packs using an organized and deadly hunting technique.

Corellian slice hounds were sometimes domesticated as pets.

An atypical race of Corellian slice hound with a particular behavior was known among hunters and explorers as the vicious slice hound. Contrary to other slice hounds living on Corellia, these beasts used to make their home near structures and natural landmarks frequented by humanoids. It was believed that vicious slice hounds appreciated these places because of their success in finding new feeding ground.

History

During the Galactic Civil War, Baron Merillion Tarko also used the creatures in his gladiator arena on Cato Neimoidia in his attempt to execute Jedi Master Rahm Kota. After the Battle of Yavin, some slice hounds were turned into cyborgs in the Imperial installation known as the Warren on Dantooine.

The Imperial TIE fighter pilot DS-61-3 had a stylized image of a Corellian slice hound painted on the inner hatch of his starfighter.
