While the Outer Rim was a lawless zone where you could run into any kind of traveler, it was in the Core Worlds that business of galactic proportions was really conducted. And it wasn't just Coruscant that was doing it. Planets like Alderaan and Corellia had become so important that this principle also applied to the regions closest to the Core, the first to be colonized: the Inner Rim, the Colonies and the Expansion Region. These regions near the galaxy's nerve center included unusual planets where the most hardened individuals could seek refuge, find special equipment, or simply live a life that was completely different from that offered by the metropolises of the Core.
