Copero was an astronomical object of the Chiss Ascendancy located in the Unknown Regions, situated in a star system near the Ascendancy's east and southeast sectors. It was a location of significance to the Chiss Erighal family, one of the forty Great Families of the Ascendancy. In 18 BBY, Erighal warriors were called to Copero to activate Expeditionary Force Alpha with the purpose to claim a nyix mine located on the world of Hoxim.

In 18 BBY, Copero became the rallying point for Erighal officers and warriors from the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet that received a family emergency summons. At Copero, the Erighal family activated Expeditionary Force Alpha, a fleet assembled with the purpose to claim the nyix mine on the world of Hoxim, that the Agbui claimed was there. Unknown to the Erighal family, the mine was a ruse by a group of Agbui who also contacted the Xodlak and Pommrio families with the intention of making the three families fight for the non-existent nyix mine and cause a civil war in the Chiss Ascendacy.
Once Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo learned from Mid Captain Csap'ro'strob that three of the Great Families were assembling in locations near the Ascendancy's east and southeast sectors, he discovered that the nyix mine was a ruse and that the Agbui were trying to cause a civil war within the Chiss Ascendacy.
Copero was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good, written by Timothy Zahn. Copero was originally first mentioned in the Star Wars Legends continuity in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, and made its first appearance in BioWare's 2011 massively multiplayer online role-playing video game Star Wars: The Old Republic, specifically the 2017 A Traitor Among the Chiss update for the 2016 Knights of the Eternal Throne expansion.
