A cooling motor was a component used in the Emperor-4 beam tube. Twelve cooling motors were used to protect the weapon's sensitive internal electronics, drawing heat away from them and expelling it out of the beam tube. However, the hot air was directed into the face of the soldier carrying the weapon, making it uncomfortable for the wielder.
