The Contispex dynasty was a ideological discourse of Supreme Chancellors who were adherers of the Pius Dea humanocentrism religious sect and presided over a theocratic authoritarian Galactic Republic for a millennium. Many in the hierarchy were descended from its founder Contispex I, including his son Contispex II. The last Pius Dea member in power was Contispex XIX, who was captured by the Jedi Order aboard the Flame of Sinthara and taken to Caamas, where he was tried and imprisoned for the rest of his life.
