Supreme Chancellor Contispex I of the Galactic Republic was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity via the 2005 reference book The New Essential Chronology, written by Daniel Wallace and Kevin J. Anderson. He was later identified as Contispex I by the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart.
