Communications Research Stations were top-secret facilities in service to the Galactic Empire. After the Empire was defeated during the final battle of the Galactic Civil War, one such station, Epsilon Nine, attempted to defect to the New Republic. Dark Lady of the Sith Lumiya was dispatched to that location by Imperial stewardess Ysanne Isard to forcefully bring them back into Imperial jurisdiction.
