Code Five was a contingency code used by the Grand Army of the Republic's Special Operations Brigade during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Once activated, Code Five recalled the entire Special Operations Brigade to the Republic's capital, the Core Worlds planet Coruscant, if it was in danger and needed protection. Jedi General Arligan Zey broadcasted the order at the start of the Battle of Coruscant in 19 BBY.
Employed by the Grand Army of the Republic's Special Operations Brigade, a brigade of special forces clone troopers, Code Five was one of a long list of worst-case scenario contingency codes used by the unit. Once activated, the order called for the immediate recall of all Special Operations personnel to the Galactic Republic's capital, the Core Worlds planet Coruscant, in the event that it was under threat and needed to be defended. The Special Operations Brigade's Director of Special Forces could activate the order.
If the planet Coruscant (pictured) was under attack, Code Five could be broadcast to recall all Special Operations personnel to the planet.
In 19 BBY, during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Jedi General Arligan Zey, the commander of the Special Operations Brigade, broadcasted Code Five through a signal to all Special Operations personnel in the galaxy, following the Confederacy's invasion of Coruscant. Although every clone commando in the brigade and their accompanying Jedi heard the order, including the members of Omega Squad who immediately deployed to Coruscant, Arligan Zey's order was limited to personnel stationed or located in the Inner Rim region of the galaxy.
Three days later, Delta Squad's demolitions expert, Scorch, asked his squad if they had been called back to Coruscant by Code Five, to which Sev, the squad's sniper, responded that the recall order was limited to the Inner Rim and that they were already occupied with their covert mission on the Mid Rim planet Kashyyyk.
Code Five was mentioned in the 2008 novel Order 66: A Republic Commando Novel, the fourth novel in the Republic Commando series, written by author Karen Traviss.
