On Nar Shaddaa, well-known for its clubs and casinos, Club Vertica was quickly considered as an exclusive experience. During its first several years, the casino was run by a wealthy backer and strictly monitored admittance; only the wealthiest, best-dressed and most beautiful patrons could hope to enter the casino. The rare exceptions were the people invited by Club Vertica's mysterious owner.
During the Cold War, these restrictions were loosened, which started rumors that the casino had been sold. In spite of this, much of the casino's old reputation remained intact; everyone knew that Club Vertica was the perfect place to be on the Smuggler's Moon if you wanted to look important.
