The Cleansing of Rucapar was an early engagement of the Third Alsakan Conflict, a war that had commenced approximately fifty years earlier, lasted for another 150 years, and was the third of a fourteen-millennia-long series of wars over political control of the Galactic Republic between Alsakan, the Republic's capital world Coruscant, and their respective allies.
