The term Clawcraft was used for many classes of starfighters used throughout the isolated Chiss Ascendancy's history.
The clawcraft differed from the later innovative Nssis-class Clawcraft by lacking its distinctive TIE-series cockpit, which was a result of technology-sharing between the Galactic Empire and the Chiss Ascendancy through to the Empire of the Hand.
Over the course of the Ascendancy's history, dozens of models of clawcraft were fielded. They were often transported through interstellar space in Chiss carriers and other warships.
