A Circle of Unity was a rare event in which the Patriarchs of the Chiss Ascendancy's Nine Ruling Families came together on the Chiss capital world of Csilla. Around the end of the Clone Wars, two Circles of Unity—the first in many years—were held. The first granted permission for the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet to travel to the planet Sunrise, where a group of Chiss warships had illegally gathered, while the second determined that Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo, who had been in large part responsible for the gathering, would be exiled.
Each Patriarch was permitted to bring a single aide, usually the Senior Aide to the Patriarch or the family's Speaker in the Syndicure. However, sometimes the Patriarch decided to bring other members of their family like Syndic Prime Irizi'stal'mustro.
