Christophsian sugar

Christophsian sugar was a caramelized-sugar mix that was inspired by the crystalline forests of the planet Christophsis. The multipurpose sweetener consisted of light brown sugar crystals that could add a hint of citrus flavor and warm cooking spice to many foodstuffs.

The Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs claimed that it was addictive; he wrote that he personally could not resist adding the sugar to popped grains, freshly-toasted mealbread, or a cup of caf. In 34 ABY, he published his cookbook The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook that included a recipe for Christophian sugar in which he compared its versatility to his Nerfsteak Seasoning. The book also contained recipes for Moogan Tea and sweet-sand cookies that both used the sugar as a topping.

In the current Star Wars canon, Christophsian sugar was included as a recipe in the 2019 cookbook Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, which was written by Marc Sumerak and Chelsea Monroe-Cassel. The out-of-universe recipe uses the caramelization process and is made with the ingredients sugar, water, orange extract, and vanilla extract.

Christophsian sugar originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was introduced in the 2009 Hyperspace exclusive article "Dining at Dex's," which was written by Gregory Walker.
