Catak

Catak was a Clawdite who served as the assistant of the scoundrel Khel Tanna. Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, Catak and Tanna were present at the Bounty Hunters Guild Social Club on the planet D'Assem, where Tanna had set up a meeting with the bounty hunter T'onga, so she could rent the Enigma Catalyst for a job. Whilst at the club, Catak shape-shifted into a Twi'lek and caused a brawl in the bar. As the brawl ensued, Catak shape-shifted back into a Clawdite and went to sit with Tanna, who introduced him to T'onga. Tanna informed T'onga that Catak had helped them round out the team for their job. After the fight, the assassin Deathstick and bounty hunter Durge joined the crew.

Catak later aided the crew to ambush Boba Fett on the Rishi Moon. The crew worked out a deal with Fett, which then he drove them with his starship Slave I to a mission on the junk moon Quantxi. However, Catak was ordered to stay behind as their getaway pilot in the Enigma Catalyst, to their dismay. He accompanied the crew to the droid station known as The Haven to get Beilert Valance's cerebral processor fixed, but perished at the hands of Valance, who had been mind-wiped by the cyborg fixer Tarr Kligson.

Joining a crew

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, between 3 ABY and 4 ABY; the Clawdite Catak worked with the human scoundrel Khel Tanna as her assistant. Later, the pair were at the Bounty Hunters Guild Social Club in the Black-Market District of the planet D'Assem, though separated among the crowd. Tanna met up with the bounty hunter T'onga, who had set up the meeting. T'onga explained that she was in need of a starship since she sold hers the Edgehawk. The bounty hunter further explained that she was doing it to save her friend the human cyborg Beilert Valance from losing his memory after their run-in with the Imperial Special Forces Inferno Squad at the black market Depatar, having lost many people in her life. Tanna remarked that it sounded like a big job and that she needed more people in her crew.

Somewhere else within the club, Catak shape-shifted himself as a Twi'lek, punching a Houk while on their way to Tanna. He avoided detection from the Houk, though their action stirred up a bar fight. Catak then quickly caught up, meeting Tanna and T'onga. Tanna introduced Catak to T'onga and explained that the bar fight was intentional to help them get more capable people to join their efforts in saving Valance. With the brawl coming to an end, the Gen'Dai bounty hunter Durge and assassin Deathstick were the two left standing amidst the chaos. Tanna pointed at the two and hired them for the job, calling them the most competent. When asked, T'onga clarified that she was after the clone bounty hunter Boba Fett, whose head was put on a big bounty by the criminal syndicate Black Sun.

Catak and the rest then went onboard Tanna's light freighter the Enigma Catalyst, along with other members of the crew, Valance, the Trandoshan bounty hunter Bossk'wassak'Cradossk, the Gand Findsman Zuckuss, and his droid friend 4-LOM. On their way to hunt Fett, Valance tried to preserve his memory by drawing the people he cared for. Catak teased the cyborg by shape-shifting into his former partner Yuralla Vega. Angered by his action, Bossk choked and threatened the Clawdite. The two were then knocked out by Durge from causing any further commotions. Soon after, the freighter reached Rishi Moon, where Fett was last tracked. The crew left the ship, though Catak stayed behind. The rest of the crew then approached Fett, who went hostile after being warned by T'onga. The two opposing parties fought, though T'onga eventually managed to hold Fett at knifepoint and worked out a deal to benefit them both, sparing him alive.

Catak was later ordered to stay behind and prepared the Enigma Catalyst for extraction, while the rest of the crew was on Fett's ship Slave I. Lounging in the cockpit, Catak shape-shifted into Tanna, T'onga, and Valance while bad-mouthing them, though he struggled to shapeshift into the cyborg. The Clawdite was about to talk about Fett but was startled when the bounty hunter interrupted, not realizing that the comm was open the entire time. Tanna reminded Catak to have the Catalyst ready to go, which he acknowledged and signed off. The rest of the crew onboard the Slave I then went to the junk moon Quantxi for a mission, doing their part of the bargain with Fett.

The crew was sent out to assassinate the Falleen Lord Xanak Grunseit, who was wanted by the criminal empire Hutt Cartel, and as a result put up the bounty against Fett, fearing for their own safety. Despite being outnumbered by the Black Sun forces, the crew managed to defeat them and completed their end of the deal. Fett then fulfilled his and handed T'onga the coordinates to the cyborg fixer Tarr Kligson. He swiftly left with the Slave I, leaving the crew behind. With their only lead in hand, Tanna called Catak for extraction for extraction.

A botched job

Later, the crew followed Fett's lead, which led them to the Haven, an old space station. Upon their arrival, the crew was greeted by the droid Telemak and two other droids, who claimed as the assistant to the guardian of the Haven. When asked by Telemak how the crew arrived at the space station, T'onga told the droid that they learned about Kligson and the space station from Fett. Telemak mistook the name for the human bounty hunter Jango Fett and became very eager to help Valance, sending the Cyborg to meet Kligson while Catak and the rest of the crew stayed behind in the docking bay.

A few hours went by and the crew started to become impatient. Catak shape-shifted into T'onga and proceeded to criticize the bounty hunter, to which T'onga threatened the Clawdite with a murder plot, startling him. Tanna suggested that the crew needed to be proactive by taking one of the droids to her ship for questioning, though T'onga reminded her that she was the captain. T'onga then ordered Zuckuss and 4-LOM to inspect the station further. Unbeknownst to them, the space station was taken over by the entity known as the Scourge.
