Cassius Tea was a type of tea made from the florets of a Cassius tree. Mandalorian individuals, including members of Death Watch such as Pre Vizsla, were known to drink the tea. Vizsla blended the tea during a meeting with the former Sith Lord Maul to discuss a takeover of the planet Mandalore, and told him that the tea brought good health. Oga's Cantina in Black Spire Outpost on the Outer Rim planet Batuu imported the tea from Mandalore. In his Traveler's Guide to Batuu, author and galactic explorer Eloc Throno noted the belief about the tea's health benefits.
The Star Wars Legends continuity first depicted a tea made from cassius florets in the young reader novel The Clone Wars: Darth Maul: Shadow Conspiracy, written by Jason Fry and published January 1, 2013. Only weeks later, cassius tea appeared in "Eminence," the fourteenth episode in the fifth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It was first identified as Cassius Tea in the new canon reference book Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: Traveler's Guide to Batuu, written by Cole Horton and first published digitally on June 23, 2020.
