Cardovyte

Cardovyte was an astronomical object in the Outer Rim Territories that featured the legendary Crystal Chaos, an expanse of crystalline stalagmites. In 35 ABY, during the First Order-Resistance War, the Resistance pilot Poe Dameron in the freighter Millennium Falcon passed through the Crystal Chaos of Cardovyte while using hyperspace skipping to escape First Order TIE fighters pursuing them from the Sinta Glacier Colony.

Description

The astronomical object Cardovyte was located in the Outer Rim Territories, situated in grid square M-6 on the Standard Galactic Grid. The Crystal Chaos of Cardovyte consisted of a massive cavernous structure that featured a colossal forest of translucent, sparkling crystal stalagmites that were capable of destroying starships. At least two stars—one that shone yellow and another that was red and appeared smaller—were visible in the space near Cardovyte, casting a red glow on the celestial body. One of the stars was bright, reflecting light onto the crystal.

History

By the time of the First Order-Resistance War, the Crystal Chaos of Cardovyte had become legendary, featuring in holo-adventures. In 35 ABY, while being pursued by First Order TIE fighters following a Resistance mission to Sinta Glacier Colony, the pilot Poe Dameron performed hyperspace skipping in the freighter Millennium Falcon, emerging within the stalagmites of the Crystal Chaos. Fellow Resistance member Finn, who recognized the Crystal Chaos of Cardovyte from holo-adventures, called out to Dameron, who maneuvered the Millennium Falcon around the stalagmites as the TIEs fired at the freighter, striking several of the columns. Several of the TIEs failed to avoid the stalagmites and were destroyed, and Dameron soon engaged the hyperdrive once more, arriving at the Mirror-Spires of Ivexia.
