Canary Islands


The Canary Islands, known as "Islas Canarias" in Spanish, is a volcanic archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean composed of seven islands and located at . Although the archipelago is closer to the African content, or the country of Morocco, it belongs to Spain and therefore is a part of the European Union. In 2019, the islands had a population of 2,153,389 and a density of 287.39 inhabitants per km2.

Scenes from the Solo: A Star Wars Story movie were filmed in Fuerteventura, one of the eastern islands that make up the archipelago. The in-universe location of Fuerteventura is the planet Savareen.
