Projected plan of attack against the second Death Star prior to the Battle of Endor.
The CS-Mark 12 hologram projection system was manufactured by Plescinia Entertainments. It measured 2.8 meters in diameter, and could project holograms up to five meters. The CS-Mark 12 was initially designed for public presentations, but the Alliance to Restore the Republic installed one of the units aboard the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Home One during the Galactic Civil War. Data was received by the unit via input slots that could accept data disks, datadots, and other storage devices, as well as through direct feeds from other computers or droids.
Operator's panels were set into the perimeter of the unit, which allowed users to control audio level, aspect ratio, playback settings, projection size and rotational speed. A full editing suite was also part of the CS-Mark 12, allowing operators to modify the holographic image to edit and enhance the images. Using this editing feature, Alliance technicians highlighted specific features and targets on the Death Star II, including the proposed starfighter flight attack plan. An alternative flat-screen data display was also incorporated into the CS-Mark 12 which could be used to display two-dimensional images.
Rebel technicians used a CS-Mark 12 to plot out the projected plan of attack against the second Death Star prior to the Battle of Endor. The presentation, held aboard Home One in the Sullust system, displayed holographic representations of Endor and the Death Star, and simulated a successful attack run on the station.
