C-9PO (Rhommamool)

C-9PO was a 9PO-series protocol droid with tinged red plating that wandered across the streets of Redhaven, the capital city of the planet Rhommamool. In 25 ABY, C-9PO observed the Red Knights of Life, followers of the Yuuzhan Vong agent Nom Anor whom he was inciting to destroy all machines. The Knights realized that the droid was watching and brought it to Redhaven's Square of Hopeful Redemption despite his attempt to escape. There, the followers destroyed the droid by throwing him from a great height into a pile of metal. While being destroyed, the droid felt glad that his programming did not make him feel pain.

C-9PO appeared in the 1999 novel Vector Prime, written by R. A. Salvatore as the first volume in the Star Wars: The New Jedi Order novel series. The 2008 The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia erroneously states that C-9PO was stoned to death.
