C-8 saboteur droid

Characteristics

Standing at 1.7 meters tall, the C-8 saboteur battle droid was relatively short. Their purpose was to sabotage enemy positions. With this in mind, they had matte-black plating and featureless faceplates as part of their humanoid frames. Their plating contained integrated and advanced sensor masking features allowing the droids to surprise a target before quickly escaping from sight. They utilized strike-and-fade combat protocols as part of their programming that dictated their tactics. Armaments were stored in internal compartments allowing weaponry to be hidden by the stealth features of the droid.

History

During operations, these saboteur droids were deployed in small, independent squads that moved separately from primary droid divisions. When facing fortified or stationary targets, they were at times provided with demolition charges for use in their infiltration missions. Typically, these compact droid units were sent in where they emerged unexpectedly to cause as much damage as possible before disappearing in the chaos that followed their attack.

The saboteur Kaj Loomit used two of them when he tried to destroy simulation chambers on Kamino.
