A gray stronghold was located on the Mid Rim Territories planet Ikkrukk and was owned by the warlord Burnium Ro, who operated out of it. The stronghold was built inside a mountain and had several windows. Around 0 BBY, Imperial Lieutenant Commander Ellian Zahra was sent by Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin to Ikkrukk with orders to kill Ro. Tarkin lent his personal corvette, Carrion Spike, to Zahra to accomplish her mission.
Once Zahra arrived on Ikkrukk, several probe droids were dispatched to follow Ro from a social club in the local Grail City to his stronghold, unbeknownst that the subject being followed was a decoy. Once the fake Ro arrived at the base, Zahra gave the order to the Carrion Spikes crew to destroy the stronghold, killing everyone inside. After returning to Tarkin, Zahra learned that she had only eliminated a decoy and that her mission was incomplete.
