The ship was built at the Tusken's Eye by the Killik Colony which was under the influence of the Dark Nest. With the help of Jae Juun and Tarfang, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, C-3PO and R2-D2 infiltrated the ship just as it jumped from the Eye to engage the Alliance blockade at Murgo Choke.
As Skywalker and his team struggled to knock out the ship's hyperdrive by themselves, Leia Organa Solo was able to determine the ship's owner with the Force, who informed Bwua'tu aboard the Admiral Ackbar. Alliance forces then began hammering Bug One until Leia found out her brother and husband were aboard.
With the backup from Mara Jade Skywalker in her StealthX, Skywalker dueled with Lomi Plo and destroyed numerous Killik warriors. Bug One's hyperdrive was damaged by Mara's Jedi shadow bomb and was forced to remain in the Utegetu Nebula.
