Blixus

Blixii were rare, half-shelled semi-aquatic creatures with tentacles and six sharp legs. They shared a common ancestor with the rathtar, vixus, and sarlacc, all possesing a large maw, tentacles, and a voracious appetite. Each was native to different worlds, and the different species had adapted separately to become great hunters in their specific environments.

They could notably be found on Scarif, where they dragged insufficiently vigilant passers-by into lagoons to eat them.

History

During the Clone Wars, Separatist Commander and Zygerrian enslaver Darts D'Nar owned a blixus which he kept aboard his ship, the Tecora. When D'Nar was forced to escape from Kiros aboard the Tecora, he unleashed his pet blixus upon Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his apprentice Ahsoka Tano. It attacked, wrapping its tentacles around Skywalker's torso and coiling one around Tano's foot. Tano was able to cut it off and escape, but Skywalker's arms were trapped, making it difficult for him to use the lightsaber. However, after some struggle, Skywalker was able to kill it with his lightsaber after the blixus opened its mouth to eat him.
