Firearms played a decisive role in many galactic battles. The best known of these were the blasters. The latter got their name from blaster gas, a chemically manipulated fluid that kept them functioning. Many cultures and species used these weapons which were available in several sizes and formats: pistols or rifles, light or heavy, simple or repeating, handgun or to be installed on tripods. But guns weren't limited to blasters alone. From flamethrowers and rocket launchers to even more unlikely weapons, weapon makers across the galaxy have used their imaginations to create new techniques of destruction.
