The black ice vulture or simply the ice vulture was a type of bird native to the icy planet Barton IV.

Black ice vultures were large birds that were at home in the icy conditions of Barton IV. Their blue plumage helped blend in with the landscape. With massive wingspans, ice vultures could swoop and sail through the air with ease, screeching. Black ice vultures would appear solitary or, if prey was present, sometimes several would appear together. The vultures were equipped with sharp beaks and razor-sharp talons.
