Bazeese script

Usage

Bazeese characters were painted at the top of a wall on the outside of the Ferrix Depot, but it merely produces gibberish when translated.

A sign outside Greyble Service said "PARTS SOLD HERE" in this script.

A device in Timm Karlo's kitchen carried a vertical label written in this alphabet, with blue letters spelling out "MADE IN FERRIX".

The sign on "GAVALOX COMMUNICATIONS" stated the business' name in Aurebesh at the top and this alphabet at the bottom. The business name was also written in Bazeese on a street lamp, two lines of the same words wrapping around it, but with different color hues.

The entrance sign of Zorby's Western Shiplot used this script, reading "ZORBYS". The letters were stylized, with stretched out characters set at different vertical heights.

A local shuttle ferry was inscribed with the text "ENGINE 22" and "FERRIX ENTRY FERRY SERVICE."

When Luthen Rael arrived on Ferrix, as he put his walking stick inside his coat after talking to Bix Caleen, he walked past a building where the roofline was inscribed with "RMONEY . WEBUYWESEEHAV", presumably "...MONEY . WE BUY WE SELL WE HAVE...".

One of the signs for a store selling droid parts consisted of red and yellow writing on a dark blue background. While the top and bottom of the sign were written in Aurebesh and read "DROID PARTS" and "REPAIR SERVICE" respectively, the middle was written in Bazeese and seemed to read "DROID PARTS", like the top of the sign.

The name of the beverage shop "NICOLA'S" was written in Bazeese script, with the name being printed in blue letters at the top of the building, and red lettering going around the window saying "NICOLA'S TEAROOMS REFRESHMENTS HERE CAFF SERVED". The roofline on the building on the left hand side of Nicola's was inscribed with red letters, spelling out "MANNER OF T" in Bazeese.

Another business sign read "CARL'S" in vertical letters, although the letter C was upside down. Next to that, "WE TRADE IN ALL CURRENCIES" was written horizontally.

Cassian Andor's adoptive father's funerary stone was inscribed with:

The stone carried by the procession during Cassian's adoptive mother's funeral said:

A sign above the entrance to an administrative building near the Ferrix Depot said "ADMINISTRATION" in Bazeese.

Bazeese script was created for the television series Andor. Barry Gingell, who worked as a graphic designer on the series, confirmed on Twitter that this was a new alphabet created for the TV series, but he was not in a position to reveals its name. The name of the script was eventually revealed to be Bazeese script, in the episode guide for the episode "Rix Road."

According to Gingell, symbols representing the digraphs OO and AA were also created, because the symbols were designed to flow as a block of text, and double letters messed up the flow and interaction between the characters. Although Maarva Andor's name appears to be misspelled as "Marva" on the funerary stone in "Rix Road", Gingell explained that the first A is actually a symbol representing a double A, with the size of the circle in the A determining whether it is single or double.
