Alliance Commander Narra and his droid K-3PO devised an ingeniously simple tactic to defeat Imperial forces. The Rebel fighters exploited the fact that these ships had to get close to the battle to deploy their TIE fighter squadrons, thus making them vulnerable. The Alliance starfighters ganged up on the larger, slower ships, and subsequently destroyed them.
Two frigates, one dreadnaught and TIE fighters were destroyed by Rebel Alliance fighters.
This Imperial defeat led to the development of Ton-Falk-class escort carriers.
