The Battle of Birthright was a tradition of Hynestian law, in which any individuals entitled to becoming the ruler of the royal family were required to fight any blood relations to the death to secure their title. Forsythia Jin became the queen of Hynestia by finding a loophole in the Hynestian law, moving her siblings offworld and promising to enact the Battle of Birthright if they returned. Other Hynestians believed Jin had murdered her siblings, giving her the nickname "Assassin Queen."
