The battle of Begeren took place sometime between the Battle of Toprawa and the Battle of Yavin, during the Galactic Civil War between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire.
The battle was fought over the Begeren's mines. It resulted in a victory for the Rebel Alliance.
News of the Rebel Alliance victory spread as far as Klatooine, giving hope to the native Klatooinians that they, too, might achieve freedom from their Hutt oppressors.
