After the Hero of Tython had defeated Executor Krannus and foiled his plan to destroy Belsavis, Bartaph confronted the Jedi as they were preparing to leave the planet, having learned that they had worked alongside the convict Pak Taldine to defeat Krannus. Bartaph demanded to know why the Hero of Tython had worked with Taldine, revealing his past as a notorious criminal, but the Hero of Typhon defended Taldine, saying that the Zabrak's help was invaluable in their mission.
Although still skeptical, Bartaph ultimately agreed to take the Hero of Typhon's word and allowed Taldine to continue working with the Republic as he had been under former Warden Playt.
