The Bactriasan scarab was a type of beetle that originated in the Inner Rim's Bactriasa system. It produced cementing fluids. The Illiseni Aerodyne company manufactured the Hobbycraft Microweight conveyance by producing a sealer from the Bactriasan scarab cementing fluids and coating the microweight's polymer wings with it, thereby rendering them sturdier than their appearance would suggest. At some point between 0 ABY and 3 ABY, an advertisement for the Hobbycraft Microweight mentioning the beetles' role in its manufacture was included in the fiftieth-anniversary edition of Galladinium's Galactic Datalog of Fantastic Technology.
