Assault on an Imperial Assault Carrier

Prelude

During the Galactic Civil War, the Freemakers were a family of scavengers who operated a ship salvage and repair business called Freemaker Salvage and Repair. They also owned a CT-900 freighter called the StarScavenger, which they used on numerous salvage runs. The Freemakers preferred not to get involved in the conflict between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance.

The skirmish

Unable to pay their rent, Kordi Freemaker convinced her older brother Zander Freemaker to undertake a risky salvage run during a battle between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. Their younger brother Rowan Freemaker was tasked with operating the ship's gun turret but was given orders not to open fire. During the battle, Rowan accidentally fired the StarScavengers gun turret at the Imperial Gozanti-class cruiser, destroying ship. This alarmed both the Imperial and rebel pilots. To avoid drawing further attention, Zander took the StarScavenger back to the Freemakers' garage in the Wheel space station.

Aftermath

Returning to the Wheel, the Freemakers found their entrance to their garage blocked by one of their Aqualish landlord Furlac's flood droids. When Furlac demanded their rent, Kordi convinced him to defer it by one day. The Freemakers then attempted to build an Z-wing out of the wreckage they had obtained. However, Rowan accidentally blew it up with the head of an AT-ST walker. As a result, the Freemakers embarked on another salvage run to the planet Nal Kapok with their B1-series battle droid Roger to obtain more scrap metal. Rowan encountered the false "Jedi" Naare and became involved in a quest to find the Kyber Saber.
