Ascendants, also known as gosho-ree, were those individuals among the inhabitants of Kathol who showed extreme proficiency using Ta-Ree magic. While any sentient being could harness Ta-Ree energy, Ascendants were capable of using multiple spells and had often risen to positions of power within their society, such as shamans of chieftains.
