An ape was a semi-sentient humanoid creature related to primates that lived in the galaxy. Ape was often used as a way to insult an individual as exemplified when Princess Leia Organa referred to the smuggler Han Solo as an oversized ape, or when Grakkus the Hutt referred to the Wookiee Chewbacca as a bantha brained ape.
