During the Clone Wars, Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine—who was secretly the Sith Lord Darth Sidious—revealed Sith assassin Asajj Ventress's mission to the Moon of Staggec in the Outer Rim Territories to a group of clone troopers, who then attempted to ambush the enemy commander. Ventress was on the moon searching for a Jedi artifact for her master, Count Dooku, but found it was no longer stored in the abandoned Staggec Jedi Temple. Outside, the clones ambushed Ventress, but she quickly cut them down. Ventress then contacted Dooku to accuse him of leaking her location, although she dropped the theory quickly when Dooku threatened her. She then followed the trail of the artifact to the planet Naboo.
