During the formation of the galaxy, Imperial scientists theorized that the binary star Algunnis passed close to several star system, capturing young planets and crushing them into a massive asteroid field with its gravitational pull. The system was devoid of settlers by the time of the Galactic Civil War, but did contain space slugs.
