The Albarrio sector was first mentioned in Riders of the Maelstrom, a Star Wars Legends supplement written by Ray Winninger for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games. In the Legends reference book The Essential Atlas the sector was placed in the Outer Rim Territories; however, when the Albarrio sector was confirmed to be canon by the reference book Ultimate Star Wars it was accidentally placed within the Core Worlds region instead. That was the result of an editing mistake, however, rather than a change in the sector's location.
