Publisher's summary

THE EARLY DAYS OF OBI-WAN KENOBI, JEDI KNIGHT! Following the wishes of his master, OBI-WAN has taken on ANAKIN SKYWALKER as an apprentice. Will his mission alongside his young Padawan bring them closer together, or sow the seeds that will drive them apart? And who else is after the ancient holocron that they seek?

Continuity

  • Age of Republic - Obi-Wan Kenobi 1 takes place early in Anakin Skywalker's apprenticeship to Obi-Wan Kenobi and begins with Kenobi unsure if he should take Skywalker on missions. Skywalker himself ponders if he is not ready for missions, but both agreed they will continue to work together at the story's end. Dialogue in the comic further suggests the mission to indeed be Skywalker's first field mission, with the "Anakin Skywalker" encyclopedia affirming it was. As such, it would logically fall before the Star Wars: Obi-Wan and Anakin comic series, as that featured Skywalker and Kenobi performing a mission to Carnelion IV. However, Star Wars: Timelines places Age of Republic - Obi-Wan Kenobi 1 in approximately 28 BBY, placing Obi-Wan and Anakin before it due to that series being dated to 29 BBY. This article assumes Timelines is incorrect.
