During her duties following the Cadesura disaster of 22 BBY, Neimoidian Royal Guard Ruug Quarnom instructed her stressed partner Ketar Nor to go home and relax, potentially to enjoy an agaric ale.
In the current Star Wars canon, agaric ale was mentioned in the 2022 novel Brotherhood, written by Mike Chen. While drafting Brotherhood, Chen included the ale after researching already-established lore about Neimoidian culture on the free-to-edit, unofficial online Star Wars encyclopedia known as Wookieepedia. In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the drink first appeared in the 2001 novel Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter by Michael Reaves.
