The Advanced Deployment Harpoon, also known as the ADH or simply as the Harpoon, was a hostile docking system that allowed a shielded tether to be fired from one ship to another, anchoring itself on the hull of the targeted ship. From there, people and equipment could be easily moved between the ship firing the harpoon and the targeted vessel. Originally built for search and rescue purposes, military companies took an interest in the technology for use in combat operations after seeing it deployed successfully for its original purpose.
