Abandoned Workshop

The Abandoned Workshop was a workshop and research facility inhabited by Jedi Master Eno Cordova during his journey and stay on the Outer Rim Territories planet Bogano. It was built with the use of pit droids and consisted of two floors. The workshop was built into the geology of the planet, and could be entered from several regions of the planet. Various types of equipment were present in the facility, each with different uses, including a weather sensor and a water filtration system.

In the workshop, Cordova researched Zeffonian technology and the local wildlife, and created detailed illustrations of the native fauna. The workshop had been abandoned by the time of the Imperial Era, and in 14 BBY, Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis visited the workshop with his newly met droid companion BD-1.

Located on the Outer Rim Territories planet Bogano, the Abandoned Workshop was owned and operated by the Jedi Master Eno Cordova. It could be entered from several locations: the Fractured Plains, Bogdo Sinkholes, Great Divide, and the Hermit's Abode. From the Great Divide to the workshop, a small metal bridge was placed. The facility was built into the limestone geology of the planet.

The workshop consisted of two levels. The lower level had a large, circular entrance from the Great Divide, and it consisted of a massive pool of water, with only one small limestone island and pillar within. Also inside the pool were lights that were installed by Cordova. One of the islands stood tall and had vines on the side which could be used to climb up to the base of the workshop's staircase. Behind the pillar, four lamps hung off the natural walls. The second level was accessible down a long hall leading further up the staircase. A circular room with seven lamps, it contained the tools and items Cordova had used and collected, with Zeffo statues, pottery, and glyphs scattered about. The room contained a lightsaber workbench, as well as another table on which laid Cordova's repair kit and sketches. At the top of the stairs was a door that led out to the surface. The workshop also contained water filtration systems, dehumidifying fans, and mechanical slits to maintain the structure's internal climate.

Creation and use

Jedi Master Eno Cordova traveled to Bogano during his study of the Zeffonian species, and commissioned DUM-series pit droids to assist him with the workshop's construction. He studied the Zeffo's Bogano Vault and the native flora and fauna of the planet. On the land above his workshop, he built a weather sensor in order to know when to wear a sweater. However, he instead discovered that there was much less electromagnetic radiation in the winds as opposed to the Zeffo homeworld of the same name. This led him to theorize this as the reason for the Bogano Vault having been built on Bogano. Cordova used the scraps of the droids that helped him build it in order to form a cairn in their honor.

Rebuilding the Jedi Order

By 14 BBY, during the Imperial Era, Cordova had left the workshop. His personal droid BD-1 remained on Bogano, with all of Cordova's research, theories, and personal recordings of himself left for a traveler who would encounter the droid. That year, Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis visited Bogano as part of his secret mission to rebuild the Jedi Order.

While on Bogano, Kestis and BD-1, who had become Kestis' companion, visited the workshop. Entering from the Great Divide, he used the Force push ability to push down the bridge allowing him to enter the workshop through the bottom level. Through the use of psychometry, Kestis learned more about the workshop and additionally found several chests. In them, the Jedi found the emitter and switch for a Valor and Wisdom lightsaber, materials for the "Offshore" poncho style, and lamina steel which could be used as a lightsaber component.

Using Cordova's workbench, Kestis took the hilt of Cordova's lightsaber from the table and integrated it into his own lightsaber to transform it from a single-bladed lightsaber into a double-bladed lightsaber.

The Abandoned Workshop first appeared in the 2019 video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, developed by Respawn Entertainment. In the game, the player can choose to acquire the double-bladed lightsaber from several locations, one of which is the Abandoned Workshop. While developing the workshop, it was imagined that Eno Cordova's studies of the Bogano landscape and fauna might have inspired the the workshop itself. Concept illustration for the workshop was done by artists Gabe Yeganyan and Liam MacDonald.
