9th edition of Space and Humanity

The 9th edition of Space and Humanity was a book about starship design during the High Republic Era. It was written and published by Mr. Carl, the chief engineer of Star Bay Shipyards. In this edition, Mr. Carl optimized the interior design of starships.

In 200 BBY, Jedi Master Mostima and her Padawan Sean were sent on a mission to the Aakaash system. After they were seperated in an attack, Sean joined the Silver Knights, a local mercenary group lead by Li Yu. When Li asked Sean if the young boy was impressed by his battleship, the Silver Dawn, Sean noted that was clearly designed with the principles of the 7th edition of Space and Humanity. The Jedi then added that it could be improved by retrofitting it to adhere to the 9th edition, since this latest revision of the book includes significant improvements in interior space utilization. The mercenary captain then got angry and told Sean he didn't know that Mr. Carl had published a new edition. Li also explained that he didn't have enaugh money to buy every edition let alone to modify his ship to adhere to every new technique.

The 9th edition of Space and Humanity was mentioned in the 2020 Chinese web-novel, The Vow of Silver Dawn, written by "His Majesty the King." In the novel, the book's name was written with the Simplified Chinese characters, "第9版."
