3-MAL personal comlink

Description

The 3-MAL private comlink was manufactured by Crozo Industrial Products. A small cylindrical device with simple controls, it was a military-issue comlink featuring limited encryption modules that were designed to prevent eavesdropping.

The comlink was capable of transmitting and receiving on hundreds of channels, and automatically monitored Standard Clear Frequencies for emergency broadcasts. The 3-MAL had a range of fifty kilometers, capable of reaching low orbit.

History

The Alliance to Restore the Republic used the 3-MAL extensively, and issued it to their naval troops and ground forces. The comlink was used by units stationed on Hoth, Yavin 4, and other facilities.
