After the supposed death of Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine at the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Admiral Rolas of the 14th Fleet declared themselves as Emperor and attempted to establish a base of operations on Carida, actions also undertaken by Grand General Levinous. Both Rolas and Levinous were quickly overthrown and arrested by their own forces after they both failed to inspire loyalty. At some point after the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY, the historian Beaumont Kin mentioned the 14th Fleet in his book, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.
The 14th Sector Fleet was introduced in the 2016 Fantasy Flight Games adventure book Friends Like These as part of the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game. It was identified as the 14th Fleet in Dr. Chris Kempshall's 2024 book, Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.
